The traditional alcoholic beverage Tongba is meticulously prepared over days. What makes the drink so unique is the way it is served – warm water is poured over the fermented millet and drunk with a handmade bamboo straw. Also called hot beer, this drink can be consumed until the alcohol on the millet grains are exhausted, by simply refilling the container with more warm water.
