The first state capital of Sikkim, Yuksom was the coronation site of the first Chogyal (king) of the Sikkimese nation. The historical town witnessed over three centuries of dynastic rule of Chogyals and the first monastery of Sikkim was built here in 1701. Not only does this Yuksom have cultural religious significance, it is the base camp of the trek to Mount Kanchendzonga.
The multi-cuisine restaurant Yuksom plays tribute to what is considered as the model village for eco-tourism in present day. The name is literally translated to “meeting place of the three learned monks”. The sacred landscape symbolically represents the third eye in four plexuses of the human body.
