With an aim to expand the horizon of sales of the exhibition’s participants while extending a hand to welcome new players to make Siliguri a hub for the Eastern Himalaya’s inbound domestic market. The 6th edition of Bengal Travel Mart, the largest B2B event of the East and North East region was conducted this year at May Fair Tea Resort, Siliguri from 5th to 7th March 2022.

Organized by Eastern Himalayas Travel and Tour Operators Association (EHTTOA), the travel and tourism event was grace by Mr. Gautam Deb, Mayor Siliguri Municipal Corporation. The three-day event was carefully planned to provide a breeding ground for buyers and sellers to interact and establish a partnership in a productive manner.

Acknowledging the call of the travel and tourism fraternity since we share the same vision of bringing uniformity and implementation of infrastructural projects and investments for the development of this region, it was our responsibility to represent our brand in a business convention.

With our stalls placed perfectly to promote our brand, we met an encouraging number of buyers ready to partner with us. Our team of experts had a productive session talking to different dignitaries of the tourism and travel industry at the same time our products were making headlines due to efficient display and much because of the name we have earned in the hospitality industry.

On the first day of the meeting, Mr. Sumit Mitruka was honored for the hard work and persistence he showed in establishing a Summit as the largest hotel chain in Eastern India. In fact, the award read the same, when Mr. Mitruka walk the podium to receive the award, the whole team cheered in exaltation. It was indeed a great feeling to see our leader soaking a round of applauds, the award was a statement to bring forth the fact of how committed we are to spread the idea of Incredible Himalayan hospitality across the foothills of the Himalayas.

Mrs. Mitruka, Director of Summit hotels and resorts alongside Mr. Mitruka won an award of Inspiring Women Hotelier – Eastern Himalaya, an achievement only few can dream of. The entire event was a celebration of Summit’s hard work received well by the contenders and the organisers.

On the second day, with regards to the symposium, Mr. Mitruka shared the dais with dignitaries to share his view and answer questions related to progress in tourism in the East and North East region.


The B2B meet scheduled on the 2nd day of the BTM fair was an outright opportunity for buyers and sellers to understand each other prospects. We had our team answering all the valid questions; building relationships. A B2B meet without a hint of doubt was absolutely productive and right on the money.

The third day, a culminating hour of the event was a celebration of the event as a whole. We achieved almost everything we wanted to achieve and learned so many things from participants coming from different sections of the hospitality industry.

We at the end would wish to congratulate the organizers for creating a platform where buyers and sellers come together to exchange views, where respected personalities join hands to facelift the infrastructure of the eastern and northeastern region.
