Lachung is located at an elevation of 8600 feet above sea level and is surrounded by apple orchards, hot springs, pine trees, and waterfalls. The rugged yet beautiful landscape will mesmerize you to no end. Witness the golden hue on the mountain ranges in the evening or watch the lazy Yaks graze at the frozen foliage nearby.
This awesome mountain village super close to the Tibetan border in northeast India and the Lachung River that splits the village in half. You can check out the Buddhist Lachung Monastery from the 1800s while you're there, you will be suprised to see that there are apple orchards all around it, it's really beautiful. Oh, and nearby there's this place called Yumthang Valley, and they've got this Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary which protects all kinds of rhododendron species. You can also find some amazing waterfalls, pine forests, and hot springs in the valley too.
It is situated on the opposite bank of the Lachung Chu River (which separates this peaceful village into two). This gorgeous snow-clad hamlet enchants travelers from Yumthang Valley to Mount Katao, Yumesamdong, and Mankhim Temple.
