Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary


Officially constituted and renamed in 1997, Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary is a protected area because of its rich bio-diversity. Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary is home to the western hoolock gibbon, also known as Hoolock hoolock. The sanctuary is surrounded by small villages and tea estates. Other primates that live in this habitat are northern pig-tailed macaque, stump-tailed macaque, and rhesus macaque, among others.



The birthplace of one of the prominent freedom fighters, Kanaklata Barua, Gohpur is located just 7.6 kilometers from the Kaziranga National Park. Apart from being a place of historic importance, Gohpur is a tourist attraction for its reserve forest "Gohpur Reserve Forest". Some of the historical places that you should visit: Jaronial Sattra, Golchepa Surya Temple, Basudev Doul, and Fulbari Dewaloy.


Tea Gardens


The climate in this region is favorable for tea cultivation; the reason why people have been growing tea plans for years. When you visit Kaziranga, make sure you spend some time off amid the freshness of Tea Gardens. Methoni, Hathkhuli, and Behora are a must-visit Tea Gardens when you step outside the laid back resort to explore the surroundings.


Kakochang Waterfalls


Kakochang Waterfalls, just 14 kilometers from the national park, is frequented by tourists for its stark beauty, calmness, and serenity. If you are in Kaziranga, a visit to the Kakochang Waterfalls is a must. Nature lovers from both far and near frequent this waterfalls. Experiencing the sound of the flowing water from the top will make you feel calm and awestruck.
