Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary
Officially constituted and renamed in 1997, Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary is a protected area because of its rich bio-diversity. Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary is home to the western hoolock gibbon, also known as Hoolock hoolock. The sanctuary is surrounded by small villages and tea estates. Other primates that live in this habitat are northern pig-tailed macaque, stump-tailed macaque, and rhesus macaque, among others.
