Summit Hotels Highlights Sikkim’s Growing Potential for Experiential Tourism
Sikkim is emerging as one of India’s most promising destinations for experience-led travel, with growing interest in rural tourism, adventure, Buddhist heritage and lesser-explored regions of the state. In a feature by TTG India, Sumit Mitruka, Founder & Managing Director of Summit Hotels & Resorts, highlighted the consistent growth in demand for Sikkim, supported by improving road connectivity, upcoming railway infrastructure and increasing interest from both domestic and international travellers. Summit Hotels & Resorts already operates across five destinations in Sikkim and continues to strengthen its presence across the northern, western and southern parts of the state. The brand also expanded its portfolio with the launch of Summit Signature Retreat Pangthang, Gangtok, marking its entry into the retreat segment in Sikkim. From trekking and Himalayan landscapes to Buddhist heritage and emerging rural experiences, Summit sees significant potential in showcasing the diverse character of Sikkim while creating stays that encourage travellers to discover more of the destination.
